Well I've not blogged for a few days, but then I haven't done many miles either. I've been to yoga, done quite a bit of gardening of one sort or another and more or less got over my cold. I walked part way into town on Friday 1.73 miles, did 1k on the treadmill and 2k on the static bike last Monday and I've rejoined the pilates class on Tuesday morning.  I couldn't run this morning my legs still won't do it :( I walked 2.53 miles and did some squats and clamshells. From my descriptions Christina suspects that I'm doing everything with leg muscles and not using glutes. When I did the clamshells and the squats and tried to squeeze my bum not much happened so those are the exercises I have to do this week. 

1.73 + 1.86 (3k) +2.53 = 6.12 miles

82.83 - 6.12 = 74.71 miles

The cold I've had for a few days has subsided quite a bit but left me with a bad chest :( I haven't done any serious exercise for a few days because I can't breathe in too deeply, it makes me cough. I haven't even been to any of my activities cos I didn't want to pass it on to anyone else. However yesterday was sunny and mild in patches so I played out in the back garden, the greenhouse and the shed. Today I went to quilting and Kay took me to Kisco for my first visit. I bought some material for a bag I'm going to make and for the mystery block we are making on the next quilting day 8th March.

No progress towards my mileage :(

Yesterday was lovely and sunny. I did a couple of hours on the allotment and moved 5 more barrows of wood chip. In addition I mended the bottom of the badger fence in a couple of places and put in one whole new section. If it stays a bit drier I might be able to get onto the allotment itself.

Today I walked down to the Post Office to pick up my parcel (yarn for a waistcoat), it was a bit damp in the air but not too bad. When I got home I did 30 minutes of yoga concentrating on my legs and back, my left hamstring still hasn't fully recovered.

15/2

Yesterday was knit and natter day so I walked about half way into town about 1.5 miles but I forgot my phone so I'm not exact. I was very glad I parked my van near the bus stop as it was throwing it down when I came home.

Today we've both had a slob day, OH has watched tv all day and I've done some little bits of housework, watched some tv, done the allotment plan for this year (if it ever stops raining). made some granny squares and sewed in ends on quite a few.

87.48 - 1.48 = 86 miles still to do, I'm falling further and further behind :(

Yesterday I had a 90 minute yoga class, this really works my muscles and stretches them. In the afternoon I went to a friend's house, she is going down South on Sunday for 4 or 5 weeks. 

Today I walked to the library 1.58 miles then quilting class this afternoon. OH went to see the heart nurse and has been discharged from her care as he's doing so well. At the moment I'm happy with my life and feeling very lucky :)

Housework this morning, changing sheets, cleaning kitchen, making soup etc etc. The weather cheered up a lot this afternoon so I walked up to the bank and back 2.17 miles. My left hamstring is still very sad so I did some leg and back stretches when I got home.

91.23 - 2.17 = 89.06 

yay that's my first 10 miles done only 90 more to go.

Today is gym day. I did 1k on the treadmill, 2k on the static bike then 30 minutes arms and core with my trainer. We concentrated on upper body because my legs are still a bit sore.

After breakfast I went to the allotment dug out and moved 4 barrows of wood chip from the pile and spread it under the hedge, another 0.71 miles.

I won't be doing anything else very strenuous today as I'm going out.

Total for the day 3 k at the gym = 1.86 miles + 0.71 miles at the allot =

2.57 miles for the day 91.23 miles left to do :)

I had a lovely day yesterday sewing with the quilting group. We made a 'funky chicken' it isn't quite finished so I'll put a pic on when she's done :) It was an all day thing and I was very tired from concentrating for so long, so I just did a few leg stretches. 

My IT band and hamstring in my left leg are quite sore since I did 75 modified burpees and 75 squats last Monday (plus other things). They are recovering and the yoga last Wednesday certainly helped.  I've asked my trainer to concentrate on arms and core tomorrow and leave my poor legs alone.

Today I've slobbed, didn't get dressed till lunch time and just knitted and crocheted all day, I will be doing some stretches though as soon as my lunch has gone down. The Spartan 30 challenge is to do 5 stretches every day this month so that was a happy coincidence :)

Walked part of the way into town today, 2.62 miles, the way was fairly flat and seemed very easy to me, I call that a result. Can't wait till the other road into town (quite hilly and further) seems easy :) After k&n I walked around town shopping then home. My IT band and hamstrings are very tight, I'll do some stretches later.

93.8 miles left. I'm way behind on the 12 miles a week I need to do but I will up my mileage as the weather improves. I need to do a bit of cycling, that will increase the miles done :)

Today should have been a busy day but I cheated :) Went to supermarket to do monthly shop then put it all away. Walked to library and back home 1.5 miles, cold and a bit damp when I got home. I should have gone to quilting this afternoon but I just didn't want to go out again so I didn't - naughty!

Didn't do much yesterday so didn't put anything on here :( I had to stay in to wait for City Link to deliver a parcel sometime between 7.30 am and 5.30 pm - he came about 4.10 pm. I cleaned downstairs and did some knitting and a few bits of jobs that had been hanging around waiting for a while.

Today I've done a yoga class for an hour and a half this morning and been to a local garden centre with a friend this afternoon. Yoga is exercise but not miles so my tally is still the same, 97.92 miles to go.

Busy day today. Warmed up at the gym with 2k (1.24 miles) on the static bike, then saw trainer and did 30 minutes of serious work with her.

Came home had breakfast and hung out washing (exciting huh?) then went to the allotment (Lottie) I barrowed 5 full loads of wet wood chip from the road onto my path down the side of the hedge. This came up as 0.84 miles walked plus all the digging and pushing. I also moved and laid 2 slabs.

Went round to a friend's for a cup of tea and a natter this afternoon to recover.

That's 2.08 miles off my 100 mile target, only 97.92 miles left :/

Lovely sunny day today and the wind has dropped quite a lot. I went to allotment with OH and we did some more cutting back on the hedge, about an hour altogether. We took the green waste to the tip together with some plant pots and trays that I've cleared out now I only have one allotment and don't need to grow as many plants :) 

Took OH home then went back to sort out the path under the hedge, it wasn't going to happen cos I got a puncture in my wheelbarrow on the first run :(

February 1

I decided to take the weekend off, and gird up my loins ready for my personal 100 mile challenge to do over the next 2 months, if I can manage that I think I will also be able to do the 5k in 45 minutes as I'll have upped my mileage considerably. I need to dig out my heart rate monitor and make sure the battery is good.

I'm having rhubarb crumble for tea and that has upset MFP but I've not had much else today in anticipation of a treat :)
