Yesterday afternoon we had notice from the council that they were going to put bitumen and gravel on the road from 7 am this morning and all cars had to be off the road. This was very short notice but, as I live on a corner and next to a school I wasn't sure which road they meant. There was a contact help number so I rang and the chap who answered said he had already looked up the information for the school because it would cause chaos at school time. Anyway he said both roads and they wouldn't be doing it till 9.30 am and it wouldn't take them long. They started at 8.30 just as school is hotting up and it caused chaos, from my viewpoint in the bedroom it was absolutely hilarious. They only did the one road, so what exactly is the point of having a help line that only has totally incorrect information???
Did some errands then went to pick up Kate. Took some pics of the flying pig with her little hat that I forgot on Monday.
We went to Dunelm and, amongst other things, I treated myself to a new pretty duvet set.
After shopping we went to the Oadby Owl for lunch and stayed there ages chatting. This is my happy pic.
