Now you see it, now you don't

The house next door to me has been empty for over 20 years, but because the owner keeps some furniture there and he comes now and then to change what is in there the council say they can't do anything. Every year I make a complaint about the garden and the Council contact him so he sends a man to clear it, including the self seeded ash tree which has grown in the cracks between his garden and the pavement. Last year he did it himself and did the very minimum required so the ash tree was only cut to stop it overhanging the pavement. This year it is already higher than the bedroom windows, I've taken the decision to cut it down and kill it; I don't want an ash tree growing within about 4 metres of my house and, if it gets any bigger, it will be too big for me to deal with :(

Now you see it

Now you don't
On a happier note, and this is my happy pic, I've cleared a shelf in the sideboard to put my pretty pots in, I have a couple more tea plates to come then, I think, I'll have enough as I only use it occasionally for afternoon tea for two or posh salad tea for one, me, when I feel like spoiling myself :).
